Your Event Directors, Jean Garr and Scott Blevins, would like to invite you to attend the longest running all Line Dance event, now in its third decade! The Line Dance Marathon has been on the must attend list for event dancers from all over the world for many years. Scott and Jean are dedicated to providing the best dance experience possible.

Whether you are a seasoned event attendee or a first timer, beginning or advanced dancer, or anywhere in between... we want The Line Dance Marathon to be THE dance event for you.

Included with your Weekend Pass (June 2 - 5, 2016)

  1. Over 85 hours of workshops to choose from in 4 workshop rooms
  2. Workshops begin on Thursday at 12pm and wrap up on Sunday at 2pm
  3. Huge lineup of top international instructors
  4. Dance previews by instructors Thursday and Friday evenings
  5. Dedicated beginner/improver workshop room and evening ballroom
  6. Dedicated all request room during portions of the day and after 10pm in the evenings
  7. Four nights of open dancing – including an intimate pizza and dance party on Sunday evening
  8. Saturday night show and “Moulin Rouge” themed dance party.
  9. Watch or enter the USLDCC choreography competition on Sunday (additional fee required)
  10. "Dance The Floor Away" open dancing on Sunday afternoon after choreography awards ceremony

Event Information

Registration

The Marathon’s “VIP ALL ACCESS”, “ALL ACCESS” & “JUNIOR ALL ACCESS” passes are 4-day passes that include all activities. At least a day pass is required to enter any workshop. Be sure to check registration deadlines.

Hotel & Airport

The Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center is located in the Research Triangle Park (RTP), Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina (phone: 919-941-5050). The staff will be going out of their way to make your weekend fun and enjoyable, offering daily meal specials and Marathon room rates of $100 (1-4 persons). Reserve your room early (book your room by phoning the number above or from The Line Dance Marathon website ONLY). Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is a 5-minute drive via complimentary hotel shuttle.

Ballrooms

The Marathon will lay over 8,000 sq ft of dance floor in 4 workshops/ballrooms that total over 22,000 sq ft of conference space. One room will be dedicated to Beginner/Improver lessons on Friday and Saturday. Open dancing will be offered several hours each day.

Instructors

Our instructors are some of the best in the line dance world. They will be teaching many exciting and new dances in over 85 workshops. Dances of all levels, beginner through advanced, will be offered from Thursday through Sunday.

Dance Book & T-shirt

The Marathon T-shirt and Marathon Dance Book will be PRE-SOLD ONLY, so indicate on the registration form if you want to order either or both. You will not be able to purchase these during or after the event. The Dance Book will include biographies of all instructors and scripts of dances taught during the weekend.

Thursday

Registration opens at 10am and your event package will be waiting. At 12pm the event starts with workshops from our international staff. Our instructors will be teaching the latest and greatest dances from around the world. Open dancing in the Royal begins at 3pm. A Preview of Friday’s Dances will be at 8pm in the Main Ballroom, after which the Marathon officially kicks off the dance weekend with the first of four evening dance parties.

Friday and Saturday

On both days, registration opens at 9am and workshops begin at 10am. There will be 4 workshops per hour plus open dancing throughout the day. On Friday a Preview of Saturday and Sunday Dances will be at 5pm. The Show will be presented Saturday at 8pm. The evening dance parties will start at 8pm on Friday and immediately following the show on Saturday. Dance all levels in the Main Ballroom. Or, choose one of the two Empire Ballrooms, where the dancing will be dedicated to the beginner/improver dancer in one ballroom, and an all request dance party (starting at 10 pm) will be offered in the other.

Costume Party

‘Moulin Rouge - Because you CanCan’ is the theme of Saturday evening’s Costume Party. Come watch the show in costume and dance all night dressed as a CanCan Dancer, Toulouse Lautrec, mid 1800-early 1900 attire.

Sunday

There will be 3 workshops per hour from 10am-2pm. Choreography Competition will be from 10am-12pm. Awards will be at 2pm. Then dance the floor away in the Main Ballroom. Finally, come to the Farewell Pizza Party and Dance at 8pm in the Crystal Coast. Pizza served at 8pm - get it while it lasts.

Vendors

There will be a variety of vendors on site for your shopping pleasure as well as Epic Gear Photography to capture your Marathon memories.
